Sean Bland – Pastoral Resident

Sean Bland is our Commissioned Lay Pastor as he is nearing the completion of his ordination process with our ECO Presbyterian Denomination. Sean is originally from Jackson, MS, and graduated from Yale University with a Bachelor of Arts in History in 2018, and graduated with his Master of Divinity Degree from Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, MS, in 2022. Sean is also a Navy Lieutenant and nearing the completion of his Chaplain Candidacy process; he plans on serving in the Navy Reserve as a Chaplain as he continues to serve at FPC.
Sean is passionate about the Triune God and His Word and applying it to all of life. Above all, he is a sinner saved by God’s grace. He recently married Mary, and together they enjoy rock climbing, surfing, and working out.
Sean is also an avid reader of the early Christian Church Fathers (aka  the “Patristics”), and hopes to help the church today recover the great writings of our spiritual forefathers in the way of Christ Jesus the Lord.
