God opens his arms to have a relationship with you, so you can have forgiveness, joy, adoption, eternal life. He loves you so much he sent his Son, Jesus, to make a way for you to truly know Him. Two of the most famous verses in the Bible are in Jesus’ own words:
For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16)
I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. (John 14:6)
We have all thought and done bad things that separate us from God. None of us is without sin, and it breaks our relationship with God since He is completely loving, completely holy, and completely just. For each of us sin has disastrous consequences for our life and soul. We are isolated, lost.
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23)
But there is a way to have a true and right and restored relationship with God, because He loves us! Out of the greatest act of love of all time, Jesus died in our place to pay the consequences for our sins. Jesus, as God in the form of man, lived a sinless life and sacrificed Himself for us so we may have eternal life. This was the crucifixion.
God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8)
Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures … He was buried … He was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. (First Corinthians 15:3,4)
Jesus conquered sin and death for us. And He lives now, ready for you to experience His love and begin a relationship with God. All you have to do is receive Him by faith, confess your sins to Him, and trust His forgiveness. And through God’s love, Jesus’ sacrifice, and the saving grace and power of the Holy Spirit you can be saved. Restored. Loved. Adopted forever. You can have a new life in Christ!
Jesus said, Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me. (Revelation 3:20)
Here’s what you can pray right now to accept Jesus and receive God’s forgiveness:
“Dear Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner, and I ask for your forgiveness. I believe you died for my sins and rose from the dead. I trust and follow you as my Lord and Savior. Guide my life and help me to do your will. In your name, amen.”
Whoever calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved. (Romans 10:13)
What’s next? You have just made the most important decision possible, one that God has been longing for you to make. Now, as you grow in your relationship with God, seek fellowship with others who have given their life to Christ. Come join us (or any Jesus-centered congregation) and, if you have a bible handy, start reading the Gospel of John and see how God speaks to you through his word.
