FPC has many special events throughout the year that impact our local community.

Christmas Events

Our Christmas in Newport Concert is always a special event that is greatly enjoyed by the Newport community.    We also support the community Adopt a Family program as we serve as a coordination site.  We hold an annual Christmas brunch for the women of the church.  Our advent wreath lighting is held weekly in our worship service.

Four Chaplains Sunday

Four Chaplain’s Sunday is the first Sunday of February and commemorates the Sacrifice of Four Chaplains on the USS Dorchester. American Legion posts nationwide remember Four Chaplains Day with memorial services that pay tribute to the courageous chaplains and the brave young men who lost their lives when the Dorchester tragically sunk on Feb. 3, 1943, while crossing the North Atlantic, transporting troops to an American base in Greenland.

SARAH BECK HILL SCHOLARSHIP

This trust was created under the will of Ralph P. Hill in honor of the memory of his mother, Sarah Beck Hill, of Lawrence, Massachusetts. FPC annually awards this scholarship to two students attending the University of Rhode Island (URI) at Kingston, Rhode Island.
